Assertiveness is a way of communicating that allows us to express our point of view and state our needs clearly. In this course you will have the chance to gain assertiveness skills. We will explore and learn what assertive communication is, ways we can communicate and behave, what assertive communication looks like, and techniques for assertive behaviour including saying no and giving and receiving feedback.

We all feel angry sometimes; it is part of being human.Anger can be useful, but it can also become a problem when it harms you or the people around you. In this course we will look to understand more about anger, how it works, factors which can make it worse and how to control it. We will consider some basic tools to deal with anger and ways to recognise your anger signs.

In this four week course we look into many aspects of diet, nutrition and the reasons why certain foods improve our mental and emotional wellbeing. We will explore the current thinking around the connection of food to mood;including habits, culture, feelings, addictions and the link between gut and brain health. On the menu in the course is a huge dose of hope, a sprinkle of magic, a cup of science and a lot of ‘food for thought’.
